  Baking Chocolate Chip Cookies

hi guys ! :D

as the title suggested , i baked chocolate chip cookies last Saturday ! i enjoy baking a lot so it was fun fun fun :p

my recipe was taken from two websites :

both recipes stated that i could bake approximately 60 cookies but i was doubting it because i felt like it was not enough LOLOL . thus , i doubled all the ingredients !

a good friend came over to help me as well ! :p (no pictures of her though HAHA)

measuring the vanilla extract ! (btw i never knew vanilla extract came at such a high price :O the one i bought was RM24.50 for one small bottle !)

i forgot to snap a picture of the dry ingredients but you can catch it in the above picture , towards the right side ! :P

oh yeah and stir in the chocolate chips :D

scoop them onto the baking sheet and off to the oven for test-baking ! :p
the time for the cookies to bake varies . for example , if you want your cookies to be more crunchy , leave it in the oven for around 15 minutes . if you want it to be softer and more crumbly , 10 minutes will do :D

and first batch done ! this batch was the softer cookies , and as you can see , the cookies turned out quite big and they were glued to each other like cells going through mitosis hahahaha . anyway it doesn’t matter if they stick , all you have to do is cut through it right after you take them out of the oven . you won’t be able to separate the cookies after they are cool and hardened so do it while they’re fresh out of the oven !

another tip is don’t worry that your cookies out of the oven are soft ! they will eventually cool and harden . for my test-bake cookies i was so paranoid because they came out of the oven soft , so i shove them back in the oven and baked them longer . when they came out they were hard , and after they cooled … they were hard as rock !! thank god they were only for test-baking purposes :p

for the second batch , we were a little smarter to leave bigger gaps in between the cookies , since we now know that they will spread out in the oven .

then i realised i had leftover Nutella so i thought … why not add Nutella into the batter ?

and so i did . the batter looks browner , as you can see .

also decided to make the Nutella cookies a bit smaller since the previous ones seemed too big hahah . and i baked the Nutella ones for 15 minutes so the texture came out harder and crunchier ! :)

tupperwares full of cookies … remember at the beginning of the post i said i doubled all the ingredients ? i ended up with about 150 cookies … or more . but all is well because my friends LOVED them and i managed to clear 70% of my cookies just by bringing them to school ahahahha . so my cookies may not look like those Famous Amos ones , but i’m proud to say that the taste is definitely exquisite ! :p and also Victoria is the biggest fan of my cookies ahahahha
