  #19thwanchiday : Part 1
Hello readers ! it's been awhile , but at long last - guess who is done with A-levels ??? that's right , me me me me 😌😌  i can't even begin to describe how relieved i feel right now , as compared to the immense amount of stress and pressure i once felt when i started my first term at KTJ . the next step is heading to university of course , but first i'll have to earn my grades ... a bit more on that next time .

today i'm blogging about my birthday !!! it was a terribly early surprise for me and i did not expect it at all when my boyfriend took me out for dinner somewhere in the middle of April . he asked me out like he normally would and i just assumed it'll be a normal night out , since he was leaving back to UK soon .


that night , Kun Yew took me to a secluded little bungalow-turned-French-fine-dining-restaurant , Maison Française , which means "French House" in English . the place was absolutely picturesque , with its clean white tables and sleek wooden floors , and not to forget the dozen chandeliers hanging from every ceiling . check out the photos below to see for yourself !




the atmosphere was very "atas" and i felt pretty out of place with my awful stride in heels too high HAHA . nonetheless , the service was really great and the company was even better 😙




we were first served with their complimentary starter ... which wasn't on the menu so i'm not quite sure what it was again ... HAHA forgive me pls . also , what's a French meal without bread ??? big big love for their little butter rolls 😭😭  i love bread a bit too much ..

for our appetiser , we decided upon the "Bisque de homard Breton , petit pain fourré" , which translates to "Brittany lobster bisque , mini filled bread". The soup was really creamy and it brought out the taste of the lobster really well , overall it was pretty good !



i was going full on pink that night heh .





as for the main event of the night , i chose the roasted chicken breast topped with truffle ... and i forgot the garnishing . i was gonna rely on the online menu to describe to me this dish so i could put it out here ... but i think the menu for French House has changed since they updated their website because what they described on it is pretty different from what i had ??? HAHAHHA I'M SO SORRY GUYS , U KNOW HOW BAD I AM WITH FOOD NAMES



Kun yew had some beef thing with siew pak choy . yup , this is as good as it gets if you ask me to describe a dish . #masterchef #ishouldwritemenus 


throughout the dinner , i kept teasing kunyew by pointing to the little jar of flowers on our table and asking him "eh where's mine ah" and he jokingly replied , "i'll do some magic and enlarge it ok" . little did i know .... he'd actually arrived at the restaurant hours before our dinner to set up a little something for me !!!


while i was looking at my phone and scrolling through photos i had taken so far , all of a sudden a wild waiter appears and whips out a bouquet + a cake !!! and all kunyew said was "i told you i'll do some magic" . HAHAHHA . very well played bro .

expectations vs. reality ... Kun ordered the cake as shown in the first photo but it ended up looking like errr ... the one in the second photo HAHA . poor boyfriend , he was so disappointed !!! heard that a friend of a friend also ordered a cake from this cake shop and didn't get what she expected it to be as well ... hmmm . FYI everyone , this is @buttercake_factory on instagram so you might wanna be careful with what you're ordering from them .

and of course , the lovely lovely flowers he got me too !!! so so pretty that my heart broke when they started wilting after a week 😪
